We developed a new product lineup for a company with a long history as a brand of lint removers. We handled from planning and design to engineering support. While leveraging the company’s strength in manufacturing precision blades in-house, we worked closely with the client to identify unique selling points that set their products apart from the competition.
We considered the ideal placement of such small household appliances inside the home and focused on their appearance when not in use. We designed the tray-style stand to accommodate an attachment that allows the height to the blade to be adjusted depending on the fabric, ensuring that the entire product, including its accessories, can be neatly organized. We explored ways to efficiently and aesthetically manufacture both battery-powered and rechargeable versions using a single mold.
With the goal of creating products that users will continue to use for many years to come and that will remain in production, we focused on the basic form and a simple, timeless design. We also considered the design compatibility with the handle-equipped model and evaluated the overall consistency of the product lineup.
